Project Description
The Monito del monte and the Mistletoe (Dromiciops gliroides)
Kylie Kathleen
Watercolor, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign
Illustrating a recent theory how the parasitic plant mistletoe was originally dispersed in the canopy of the forest. The ancestors of the Monito del monte, Dromiciops gliroides, who are native to Chile were thought to be one of the first to carry these seeds into the treetops. By eating, digesting, and…dispersing…the seeds high in the canopy, mistletoe was able to make its move to new heights.
