Gouache, Photoshop The California Condor, Gymnogyps californianus, is a bird that is very near and dear to my heart. I worked as a Field Technician with these birds observing their behavior, nests, performing health checks, and more. Getting to be so up close and personal with these beautiful yet stinky birds was an incredible experience and just made me fall in love, especially with all their sweet wrinkles and colors! Watching these magnificent birds grow up was amazing to see, and their dramatic appearance change from juvenile to adult was something so stunning that I wanted to express it to others. Although they are perhaps not always thought of for their looks, I find them incredibly beautiful, fascinating and lovable.
