Cnidarians are composed of four classes: Anthrozoa, Cubozoa, Hydrozoa and Scyphozoa. Depicted here we have a Sunburst Sea Anemone (Anthopleura sola) form class Anthrozoa, By-the-wind-sailor (Velella velella) from class Hydrozoa and Compass Jellyfish (Chrysaora hysoscella) from class Scyphozoa. The phylum of Cnidarians have many characteristics, but the most identifiable are that for the most part they have radial symmetry meaning that they are only symmetrical when cut in half vertically. And even more telling if an organism belongs to this phylum is that they all have tentacles with stinging nematodes.
