Color Pencil, Duralene/Dura-lar Dusky nembrotha (Nembrotha kubaryana) feed on ascidians, marine invertebrate filter-feeders. Some ascidians contain toxins which the nudibranchs can collect and use for defense. When the nudibranch is attacked by a predator they can release the collected toxins as a slimy mucus as a defense mechanism.
