Terminally ill patients often struggle with anxiety and depression after learning their time on earth is more limited than they may have thought. A number of drugs are being studied to help alleviate these patients of this psychological pain and allow them to come to terms with death and make the most of their remaining time. The most prominent drug is derived from the fungus Psilocybin cubensis, also known as magic mushrooms.
