Project Description
The Stick, the Leaf, and the Eggs: Solving a Century Old Mystery (Phyllium asekiense)

After Effects, Photoshop/
Leaf and stick insects are extremely difficult to observe effectively in the wild. Their impressive camouflage, typically coupled with sexual dimorphism, often means that even the scientists who study them have never seen wild individuals and only know certain species from one particular sex. It wasn’t until the Montreal Insectarium came into the possession of a leaf insect egg clutch, that they could unravel a century old mystery presented by these camouflaged critters.
