Project Description
A Sign of Spring (Iris sanguinea)
Sophie Wood Brinker
Duralene/Dura-lar, Colored Pencil
Every year, as the iris begin to bloom, I am filled with a sense of hope and wonder. Deep purples, light yellows, and pale lavender petals dot the hills and stand out from the vibrant green meadow grass. With this piece I hope to convey that time of year, between the rains and the heat of summer, when the iris bloom and share their beauty with us.
