Sophie Wood Brinker (she/her) is a Science Illustrator who concentrates on appreciation of the small and care of our human and non-human neighbors. She grew up in Santa Cruz, California, where she found endless inspiration in the flora and fauna of the central coast. She has a Certificate in Graphic Design from UC Berkeley, and is so happy to be a part of the Science Illustration Program, furthering her passion for creating images as a means of connection. Through watercolor, pencil, and ink, Sophie hopes to communicate the beauty and intricacy of the ecosystems that surround us. She currently lives in Bolinas, California, and loves to incorporate the beauty of Marin landscapes into her work.
